About TabLogs

TabLogs was founded to modernize the way geotechnical and environmental teams capture, manage, and deliver subsurface data. What began as a field driven frustration with manual logging and disconnected workflows has grown into a global platform supporting engineers in more than 20 countries. Today, TabLogs helps engineering teams standardize borehole data, improve reporting consistency, and streamline site investigation workflows from field to final report.

About Us

Why We Built TabLogs

For decades, geotechnical data collection relied on paper logs, spreadsheets, and disconnected desktop systems. Field notes were manually transcribed. Reports were reformatted by hand. Valuable subsurface information was locked inside static PDFs with no structured data behind it. This created avoidable risk, unnecessary delays, and inconsistent reporting standards across projects and offices. TabLogs was created by practicing geotechnical engineers who experienced these inefficiencies firsthand. The goal was simple: remove the bottlenecks between field data collection and finished borehole logs, while building a structured database that scales as firms grow.

About Us

Our Mission

We exist to modernize how subsurface information is captured, structured, and delivered. Structured data improves engineering decisions. Standardized workflows reduce project risk. Cloud collaboration increases efficiency across offices and regions. TabLogs is designed for both small field teams and large enterprise consultancies. By continuously investing in usability, performance, and data integrity, we help engineering teams move beyond fragmented workflows toward connected, reliable digital infrastructure.

About feature image
About Us

Built by Geotechnical Engineers. Backed by 30+ Software Engineers.

TabLogs was founded by Declan Vanderhor, a geotechnical engineer who saw the need for a modern platform purpose-built for site investigations. Today, that vision is delivered by a multidisciplinary team of geotechnical engineers, software developers, data scientists, and AI engineers. Domain expertise defines what the platform must solve. Our development team engineers how it is built. Rather than adapting generic data tools, TabLogs is engineered around real-world field workflows, structured data models, and enterprise-grade architecture. The result is software guided by practitioners and built by specialists, designed to scale with the demands of modern geotechnical and environmental teams.

About Us

Founder-Led & Product-Driven

TabLogs evolves through direct collaboration with the engineers who use it. Our team works closely with consulting firms and DOT projects, implementing feature requests quickly and refining workflows based on real-world feedback. Because we are founder-led and domain-driven, product decisions are guided by practicing engineers, not generic software roadmaps.

Declan Vanderhor

Declan Vanderhor

CEO and Founder

Declan founded TabLogs after working as a geotechnical engineer on site investigations across infrastructure, transport, and development projects. Through hands on fieldwork, borehole logging, and report preparation, he experienced firsthand the inefficiencies of paper logs, spreadsheet driven workflows, and disconnected legacy systems. His direct experience with soil classification standards, drilling coordination, and client reporting requirements shaped the foundation of TabLogs. Today, he continues to guide product strategy with a strong focus on practical engineering workflows, structured subsurface data, and industry standard compliance.

Chris Reed

Chris Reed

CTO

Chris leads the architecture, engineering, and long term technical strategy of the TabLogs cloud platform. With extensive experience designing and scaling high performance software systems, he is responsible for ensuring the platform remains secure, reliable, and capable of supporting engineering teams operating at any scale. Since joining TabLogs in 2022, Chris has overseen the evolution of the platform into a modern, cloud native system built to handle structured geotechnical data, real time validation, bulk data workflows, and complex subsurface visualization. His focus on clean architecture, performance optimization, and secure infrastructure ensures that firms can trust TabLogs for mission critical project data. Chris works closely with the product and engineering teams to continuously enhance the platform’s scalability, API integrations, and data integrity. His leadership ensures TabLogs not only meets the demands of current site investigation workflows, but is built to support future innovation in structured subsurface data and digital engineering practices.
