Core Logging: Added a dedicated Fracture Index tab for independent FI logging when enabled.
Bulk Edit: Added DCP–Sowers to the bulk-edit in-situ test types.
Symbol Library: Added a new water observation symbol.
Water Observations: Fixed an incorrect date shown when editing water observation results after entry.
Logs: Ground Water Monitoring tab no longer appears when the module isn't active in the Geotechnical config.
Insights Database Tool: Fixed End Depth incorrectly displayed in meters under Log Properties.
Insights Database Tool: Fixed blank Date Logged values for some projects in the data table.
Continued shared-UI and localisation improvements
Inline rule preview & edit via a side drawer
Unresolved string variables now render blank instead of showing placeholder text.
SPT N-Value label no longer shows the raw placeholder when no rule case is satisfied.
Rule tags now show the Rule Name (instead of Rule ID) on hover.
Added date-format options for the "Current Date" variable and expanded datetime formats for global conventions
Advanced settings now show by default (removed the "Advanced View" toggle).
Rules Engine now available in the Rule-Based Mapping view.
Added a live preview to the Rule-Based Mapping view.
Added rule ordering and no-match handling for import rules.
Added an unmapped-reference warning in the mapping UI.
Rule-based mapping now supports all file formats.
New flat Excel-style grid builder: canvas & four-section structure, cell renderer, row/column insert-delete, merge/unmerge, gutters, frames + content area, cell interaction, right-click context menu, and JSON export.
Content-area border now controllable and frame width adjustable; removed redundant cell-layout buttons from the Cell Properties panel.
Added a preview button to Template Library cards.
Manage Sort Groups for legend item ordering (Terracon use case).
Fixed photo content overflowing the content-area border on print/PDF preview.
Entered water observations now reflected in the Water column of the log report (Gen2).
Fixed sample-type graphic not displaying in the Gen2 Log Report Builder.
Fixed Project Photos log-name column appending the log-type suffix, causing {{log_name}} to resolve incorrectly.
Fixed is_one_of qualitative rule silently failing on multi-select fields.
Added a warning when deleting samples via Bulk Edit.
Fixed Sample ID not auto-populating in bulk-edit tables.
Added a DMRS bulk-edit component.
Added Texas Cone to bulk-edit in-situ test types.
Fixed SPT density pre-selection selecting all brackets instead of only the matching bracket (web & mobile).
Fixed projects showing view-only UI when the user actually had edit access.
Fixed multiple offline-mode failures (project access, sync, log creation).

2nd May 2026 -----> The bulk editor has been rebuilt to replace all of that with one unified editor. Switch between modules without losing your log selection or your place.

One editor for all modules: Clicking Bulk Edit from anywhere now opens a single editor with a tab for every module — Samples, Drilling, Water Observations, Insitu Tests, and more.
Log selection that sticks: Filter down to specific logs (e.g. BH1 and BH3), save your selection, and it carries across every tab. No re-selecting when you switch between modules.
Add and edit data across logs: Add new rows directly in the editor. Pick the log, fill in your data, and save. Sorting by log name is also supported. The legacy Add New button remains available too.
PDF preview while editing: Hit the Preview button to view the log report PDF without leaving the editor. Select which log you want to check, then hit back to return straight to where you were.

13th April 2026 -----> Okta SSO support — A new Okta sign-in option is now available on the login screen. Enter your email and you'll be routed to your organization's Okta identity provider automatically. Seamless login when already authenticated — If you're already signed into Okta, TabLogs will log you in instantly with no additional steps required. Cleaner SSO administration — SSO settings have been reorganized into a provider list view, making it easier for administrators to manage and configure identity providers.

25th March 2026 -----> You can now assign lab tests directly from the individual sample creation form while logging in the field. As you create each sample, you can select and assign the required lab tests in the same action, keeping your field-to-lab workflow connected and reducing the risk of assignments being missed or completed out of sequence.

18th March 2026 -----> TabLogs now connects directly with Viktor AI via OAuth 2.0. Viktor AI users can read their TabLogs projects and logs from within Viktor with no manual data transfer required.

11th March 2026 -----> The import tool has been substantially rebuilt. Whether you are bringing in large files, mapping complex column structures, or running exports in the background, this release makes the whole process faster and more resilient.

Calculation and formula mapping: If a field is missing from your source data but can be derived from two other columns, you can now define the formula directly in the mapping step. TabLogs computes the value for every row on import, with unit conversion handled automatically. For example, if From Depth is missing but you have Depth To and Run Length, you can set From Depth = Depth To minus Run Length without touching the source file.
Inline editing: Review and correct data before it is imported, without leaving the import flow.
Upload and leave: Background upload means you can navigate away once a file is submitted. TabLogs handles the rest.
Retry on failure: Failed imports can now be retried without redoing your column mapping from scratch.
Large file support: Improved handling for high-volume imports and uploads.
Background export with status bar: Export progress runs in the background with a live status indicator so the UI stays fully responsive.
Mapping export: Save and export your current column mapping configuration for reuse.
Worksheet customisation: Add custom columns and sheets directly in the worksheet before export.
Primary export format: XLSX is now the default export format.

4th March 2026 -----> Fence diagrams now support the full log report builder, giving you the same level of control over cross-section presentation that you already have in your log reports!

The stick selector in Fences is now a dropdown, letting you choose between basic or templated sticks.
From Manage Templates, you can create, edit, and copy templates. Copying is particularly useful since many sticks will be near-identical with minor variations.
An Add from Library button lets you pull in a pre-built master template, giving you a ready-made starting point to quickly toggle columns on and off.
New per-column display toggles let you hide column titles, remove boundaries, and fine-tune the visual. My recommendation is to keep boundaries on for classification codes only to ensure a cleaner look.
Text positioning for classification components is now fully controllable, including the ability to display text in the centre.

27th February 2026 -----> This new feature automatically tracks changes made across project data, system configurations, and report templates in TabLogs.

Audit Trail provides a clear history of edits across your projects, helping teams maintain data integrity, support QA processes, and meet compliance requirements.
Once enabled at the company level, the feature runs automatically with no setup required.

13th February 2026 -----> This is a new feature designed to strengthen quality assurance across your ground investigation data.

It automatically compares your visual/tactile field descriptions with the correct lab description as determined from your Partical Size Distribution and Atterberg Limits testing.
In the process, we’ll also update all your database fields for Primary, Secondary and Minor constituents, grading, plasticity moisture and more!
The result? Effortless reconciliation with your ASTM/AASHTO/AS/NZ Lab results across your projects.

17th January 2026 -----> You can now create PSD and Casagrande Atterberg Limits charts directly in TabLogs using the new Report Builder Tool.

Report Builder Tool Previously known as Drawing Tools. Now redesigned with a Create Chart button and a library of ready to use templates.
PSD Charts (ASTM and Australian Standards) Select your data source → choose test type → fetch lab data.
Smart Map auto fills sample IDs, log IDs and key columns.
Casagrande Atterberg Limits Chart Fetch your Atterberg Limits data and TabLogs auto populates required fields.
Smarter Controls Toggle legend items, hide unwanted details and clean up chart views quickly.
PNG Exporting Export the chart, the legend or both as high quality PNGs.
Save and Manage Charts All charts are saved in Report Tools for easy editing or duplication.

9th December 2025 ----->

Connect devices like the Garmin GLO 2 for higher precision than your phone’s built in GPS.
Smart Switching - TabLogs automatically uses the external device when connected and falls back to your phone’s GPS if the signal drops.
Live Accuracy Display - See the accuracy radius and confidence level reported directly from your external receiver.
Auto Reconnect and Clear Status - The app reconnects on launch and shows your current GPS source with a clear header badge.

1st December 2025 -----> This is one of our biggest updates yet. The new Database Tool lets you search, filter and explore every project and borehole in your company from one place. What it can do:

Interactive Map View - See every project and borehole across your company in a single, spatial map.
Searchable Data Table - Run queries and instantly review results in a sortable table.
Custom Query Builder - Create detailed filters using AND or OR across projects, boreholes and samples. Examples include: Projects with “example” in the name Boreholes deeper than 20 m Logs containing SPT sample 5
Preview and Export - Open log view directly from any row and export results to Excel or CSV.

30th October 2025 -----> You now have greater control over what’s shown in your Core Log runs with a new set of toggles that let you customize the level of detail shown in your logs. Here's what you can now display:

Aperture Mineral

25th September 2025 -----> We’ve broken Log Reports out into their own dedicated module. This is a major structural shift that sets the stage for moving beyond just boreholes. Here’s what’s new:

A cleaner, smarter UI with a new “Builder” tab inside logs for streamlined report creation and editing.
Depth and page settings now live here. If you're looking to change where your log starts and stops, or manage pagination, this is the new place to do it.
Improved permissions so you have tighter control over who can access or edit log reports.
Templates have moved from the log config menu into the new Log Reports module for quicker access and cleaner organization.
The old log preview dropdown has been retired; all template updates and report controls are now handled directly in the module.
This update brings more clarity, more control, and sets us up to support more log types in the future, not just boreholes.

21st August 2025 -----> We’ve made it much easier to manage proposed boring locations in your projects and addressed one of the most requested features from users. Here’s what’s new:

You can now download your proposed boring locations directly from the project. The template includes all existing data in the tab so there’s no confusion about how to populate it.
You can now export boring locations as KML files, making it easy to bring them into GIS or mapping tools.
You can also reupload KML files to populate or update your proposed borings. The system matches locations by name, updating coordinates or creating new borings as needed.
This update simplifies borehole planning and gives you greater flexibility in how you work with location data.

22 July 2025 -----> Need to include extra project context, disclaimers, or notes? You can now attach PDF appendices to the end of your log reports — perfect for adding clarity without cluttering the core report.

Add multiple PDF appendices to any log.
Appendices appear after the final log page in the export.
Great for including explanatory notes, project details, or company-specific info.
Just upload your PDFs and select them during export — easy, flexible, and fully integrated.

17th June 2025 -----> Managing subsurface data just got way more efficient. With Bulk Edit Subsurface Profiles, you can now view and update subsurface records across all logs in a project—no need to open each log individually. Why you’ll love it:

Get a full, editable overview of subsurface data for the entire project.
Perfect for standardizing lithology, fixing input errors, or updating descriptions in bulk.
Edit directly from the Subsurface tab using dropdowns or free text fields.
Changes apply project-wide, streamlining your workflow and reducing mistakes.

29th April 2025 ----> You can now record groundwater observations directly against each individual log using a new dedicated Groundwater tab. Data is entered via a tabular format, allowing you to easily view previous entries side by side. Each row captures numeric-only fields, giving you a clean and consistent record. The interface is designed to mimic the sample entry experience you’re already familiar with. It’s a simple, structured way to track groundwater data alongside your borehole logs — with room to grow as your requirements evolve.

9th April 2025 -----> Environmental engineers will love this one. We’ve added more flexibility to how you capture site data by letting you log specific in-situ test and subsurface results directly against individual samples. Head to Manage Sample Types, and you’ll now see two new toggles:

14th March 2025 -----> We're thrilled to say that the new TabLogs web app is officially out of beta and live! What’s New in Our New Web App?

27th February 2025 -----> Version 4.0.14 of the mobile app is live, bringing with it increased functionality with our offline capabilities.

In this update, users can now receive alerts for unsaved photo tags when using offline mode.
In addition, enhanced image handling is now available in the edit component when logging offline.
The network status has been amended so that it is not taking up as much space on mobile devices.
Finally, additional validation has been added when syncing log configurations from the server.

16th December 2024 -----> Our users can now use our enhanced new TabLogs web app, marking the start of a fresh and seamless experience.

7th November 2024 -----> We’re thrilled to announce a new feature that many of our clients have been asking for—introducing the ability to add our Default Columns (like Wells, Defect Spacing, and more) into your log reports with even greater flexibility! Not only that, but we’ve gone a step further by enabling you to include scales within child columns. This enhancement allows for a more customized and precise presentation of your data.

30th July 2024 -----> We are thrilled to announce a massive update that will significantly enhance your experience with databases in TabLogs!

You can now perform more comprehensive searches across all items on the left panel, including radial searches based on a location.
For Plus users, you are able to copy logs from other projects into your current project, you can then use these as references or even include in Fence Diagrams
